    We bought this little farm with the dream of creating a home arts studio to share what we’ve learned with others. I’ll be offering private lessons as well as group classes throughout the year.

    knitting 101— learn the basics of knitting; cast off, bind off, knit and purl stitches with super easy projects that are sure to impress your friends. A skein of the yarn of your choice and corresponding needles are required. (tell Karen that you’d like to make a beginner scarf for my class and she’ll get you set up!) $5 per hour per student.     basic machine sewing— this class will introduce students to the basics of using a sewing machine; straight stitch, zigzag, sewing backward. One yard of the cotton fabric of your choice required. Students will take home a set of four cloth napkins. $5 per hour per student. Available anytime. Call to make an appointment.

    home canning classes—these hands-on classes will teach students to preserve dilled cucumber pickles, tomatoes, salsa or jam. $20 per student. This class is scheduled for AUGUST 8, 9 a.m. and AUGUST 22, 9 a.m. Call to reserve your spot now!

    basic bread baking —  learn a versatile bread recipe that can be used to make white bread, rolls, pizza, cinnamon rolls and more. $20 per student. This class is scheduled for SEPTEMBER 12 at 1 p.m. Call to reserve your spot now!

    brioche— learn to make this decadent french bread at home. This rich buttery bread is perfect for french toast, with soups or as the base for many yummy pastries. $20 per student. This class is scheduled for Sunday, SEPTEMBER 19 at 1 p.m. Call to reserve your spot now!

    bagels— impress your family and friends with big city bagels you’ve made yourself. Students will learn the basic technique for making these chewy treats as well as making several cream cheese spreads that are the perfect accompaniment. $20 per student. This class is scheduled for Monday, SEPTEMBER 20 at 1 p.m. Call to reserve your spot now!

    pumpkin carving— Bring your family to the farm and we’ll spend a fun afternoon carving pumpkins!  $10 per family. The pumpkin of your choice is included. This class is scheduled for OCTOBER 23 2 p.m.
